Starting in 1925, what’s known now as Providence could be found at many sites throughout Winnipeg before relocating the main campus to Otterburne in 1970. Since that time, Providence has significantly expanded its facilities on this 100-acre rural property, and over the past few years has been present in the city of Winnipeg again at its Providence Downtown location.

Providence Hosts the CCAA Men’s Volleyball Nationals
Since it was announced this past fall that Providence would be hosting the 2025 Canadian Collegiate Athletics Association (CCAA) Men’s Volleyball National Championship, the Pilots have been working hard to prepare for the arrival of teams from across the country early next month. All games will be held at the Niverville Community Resource and Recreation Centre between March 5th to 8th.

Cross-Country Running at Providence
This fall, the Pilots will have a Cross-Country Running team competing in the National Christian College Athletic Association, which will be led by head coach Caleb de Jong. The goal before the team’s official launch in September is to recruit at least five women and five men who will race at the NCCAA National Tournament in Indiana.

Harvest Festival 2024
On Friday, October 18th, Providence held its annual Harvest Festival banquet in the Reimer Student Life Centre. Thank you to all those who supported this event through volunteering, donations and sponsorships. Over $64 000 was raised this year for the Providence Fund.

Reading the Margins with Dr. Michael Gilmour
On Wednesday, October 9th in the courtyard at Providence, a couple dozen staff, faculty and students gathered for the launch of Dr. Michael Gilmour’s new book Reading the Margins: Encounters with the Bible in Literature. Dr. Gilmour is Distinguished Professor of New Testament and English Literature at Providence University College, where he has worked as part of the faculty since 1998.
